In 1981, NBK entered the French Market by taking over 51% of a French licensed bank. In 1987, NBK completed the take over and set up its fully owned subsidiary as part of its initial strategy to capture investment and trade flows between Kuwait and the European Market and to provide Kuwait investors access to the European market for short and long term investment. The Paris office became officially a branch of NBK International in 1996 when NBK merged its two European operations in Paris and London to improve the efficiency of services it provides to its customers in France and Southern Europe. 
 
Since January 1st, 2019 the activities of the French branch of National Bank of Kuwait (International) Plc were transferred to NBK - France SA, French subsidiary 100% held by the NBK Group, having a full European passport to continue strengthening the bridge between the Middle East and the European markets and develop a full-fledged European bank organised around two building blocks (Wholesale Banking and Consumer Banking), including three business lines offering a wide range of whole range of traditional banking products (including Corporate Finance, Working Capital Finance, Supply Chain Finance, and Event-Driven Finance, deposits, currency and interest rate hedging) in all European geographies for an enlarged clients base of clients active in many different sectors including the Commercial Real Estate:

Based in Paris, the team has in-depth knowledge of French & European Commercial Real Estate market. We offer Senior Debt for Commercial Real Estate, Portfolio and single asset facilities, Corporate Structures and Asset Deals. 

The covered geography is Europe (excluding UK & Ireland), with a focus on France, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Italy and Spain. 

The CRE team has the know-how in arranging complex financing structures, and the expertise in various property type financing: office, retail, logistics, hospitality and other operated properties.

NBK - FRANCE has a solid track record in arranging, underwriting, co-arranging and co-underwriting large deals along with other large banks, for reputable international and institutional investment actors: Sovereign Funds, Private Equity, Investment Funds, Asset & Investment Managers, REITs.

Consumer Banking

NBK - FRANCE offers comprehensive real estate services and funding to private clients; assisting clients with purchases of residential properties in France, identifying suitable residential properties, managing bill payment service to ensure clients property’s utility bills, arranging valuations and surveys from a chartered surveyor that can value properties clients intend to purchase.
