With NBK Secure Shopping, you can now confirm all online payment transactions directly and easily through NBK Mobile Banking without the need to enter the OTP.

Who Is It For?

This service is available for all NBK Customers. The OTP will be sent to all NBK Cardholders through email or SMS, while confirming online transactions through NBK Mobile Banking is available only when using NBK Debit Card (international spends only), NBK Multicurrency Prepaid Card or NBK Foreign Currency Prepaid Card.

What Makes It Special?

OTP:
Each online transaction will have a separate OTP, which you cannot use for more than one transaction

NBK Mobile Banking Confirm Payment:
If you have an NBK Debit Card, NBK Multicurrency Prepaid Card or NBK Foreign Currency Prepaid Card, you will be able to confirm payments directly through NBK Mobile Banking

How do I get it?

NBK Mobile Banking Confirm Payment:
To avail this service, activate NBK Push Notifications to benefit from approving your online payments through NBK Mobile Banking App

OTP:
To use this service, ensure your mobile number and e-mail is up-to-date by visiting the nearest branch, logging into NBK Online Banking or calling 1801801

How Can I Access It?

All purchases at participating online merchants* and after entering your card details, will automatically redirect you to the 3D Secure page to approve the transaction either through NBK Mobile Banking App or by receiving the OTP

NBK Mobile Banking Confirm Payments:

  • On selecting "NBK Banking App", you will be redirected to NBK Mobile Banking App and follow the required steps:
  • Login to approve or reject the merchant payment:
    •  If approved, you will be redirected to proceed with the payment
    •  If rejected, you will receive an SMS stating that the transaction is cancelled
  • If NBK Push Notifications service is inactivated:
    • Login to NBK Mobile Banking App and click on your card used for the payment
    • Or go to "More" under "Cards" section and click on "Payment Approval"

OTP:
In case you want to approve the transaction through receiving the OTP, you will have to follow the below:

  • You will receive the OTP via SMS or e-mail registered with NBK
  • The OTP will only be valid for 15 minutes
  • Enter the OTP to confirm and validate the transaction
  • If you do not receive the OTP, please call 1801801

*3D Secure enabled online merchants will display the "Visa Secure" or "Mastercard Identity Check" logos on their payment pages. You can still shop with non-participating merchants, but you will not require or receive an OTP.

  1. What is NBK Secure Shopping?

    NBK Secure Shopping adds another authentication step for online payments. It was developed by Visa as the Visa Secure service. Mastercard also offers this to customers under the name of Mastercard Identity Check. This authentication is based on a three-domain model named 3D Secure.

  2. Will I need to apply for a new credit card to use NBK Secure Shopping?

    No, you will be able to use your existing NBK Card.

  3. Do I have to pay for NBK Secure Shopping service?

    NBK Secure Shopping is a free and automatic service provided to all NBK Cardholders.
